Refund policy

Last updated 2026-08-05

In plain English

There is a 14-day free trial with no card, so you find out whether this works for your school before you pay anything. That is the real refund policy — everything below is what happens if something still goes wrong.

If we billed you by mistake, we refund it, always. If you are within 14 days of your first payment and it is not working out, we refund it. After that, monthly plans run to the end of the period you paid for and annual plans run for the year.

1. The trial comes first

Every plan starts with 14 days free, with every Growth feature, and without a card. Nothing is charged until you choose to subscribe, so there is no such thing as an accidental first payment.

We would rather you spent the trial importing real students and running a real week than spent it reading this page.

2. Your first payment — 14 days

If you subscribe and decide within 14 days of that first charge that Schoolory is not right for your school, email us and we will refund it in full. No form, no exit interview, and you do not have to explain why.

This applies to the first payment on a new subscription, monthly or annual. It is not a rolling right that resets each time you are billed.

3. Monthly plans after that

Cancel whenever you like from inside the app. Your workspace keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for, and nothing further is charged.

We do not refund part-months. If you cancel on day 3 of a month you have paid for, you keep the remaining 27 days rather than getting money back for them.

4. Annual plans

An annual plan is discounted because it is a commitment for the year, so after the 14 days in section 2 it runs to the end of the year you purchased and is not refunded pro rata.

You can still cancel at any time to stop it renewing, and you keep full access until the term ends.

If something has genuinely gone wrong — an extended outage, or a feature you bought the plan for being withdrawn — write to us. We would rather settle that case by case than hide behind this paragraph.

5. Add-ons

Add-ons are billed monthly on top of your plan and prorated from the day you add them. Remove one and it stops at the end of the current month; we do not refund the part-month, for the same reason as section 3.

6. Billing mistakes — always refunded

Charged twice, charged after you cancelled, charged the wrong amount, or charged for a plan you never chose: tell us and we return the money in full. This has no time limit and it is not discretionary.

If you spot something on your statement you do not recognise, ask before assuming the worst. Payments appear under Paddle's name, not ours — see section 8.

7. What is not refunded

Time you did not use. An account nobody logged into is still an account we ran, backed up and kept available.

A cancellation you forgot to make. We email before every annual renewal, and the renewal date is on your billing page all year.

An account suspended for breaking the acceptable-use section of the terms.

8. How to ask, and how long it takes

Email support@schoolory.com from the account owner's address, or from any address on the account, and say which school you are. A person reads it. We aim to answer within one working day.

We decide the refund; Paddle carries it out, because they are the merchant of record and hold the payment. That is also why your bank statement says Paddle rather than Schoolory or VNIS Vietnam Company Limited.

Once approved, the money goes back to the original payment method. Paddle usually completes this within a few days, though your bank may take longer to show it.

9. Cancelling is not the same as deleting

Cancelling stops the billing. It does not delete anything: your data stays available to export until you close the account.

When you do close the account, we keep the data for 30 days in case you change your mind, then drop the database entirely.

10. Your legal rights

Nothing on this page reduces any right you have under the law of your own country, including any statutory cancellation right that applies to you.

Where local law gives you more than this policy does, the law wins.
